Advanced Street Gang Investigators Course

This class provides advanced gang training to the Basic Street Gang Investigators training, as well as, Security Threat Group Investigators and Intelligence Analysts currently assigned to gang investigations who have two to four years of experience in this field.

TCC - Telecommunicator Certification Course

This course will give you the tools and knowledge you need to be a competent telecommunicator.

Requirements:  Must provide requested documentation and meet further requirements.

• Fee waived for employed telecommunicators with local/county/state agencies - $135 Tuition for all others

DOCC - Dept. of Corrections Certification Course

The Commission mandated 174 +/hour course takes approximately 5-weeks to complete and concludes with a comprehensive written exam. Upon successful completion of the course, the new detention officer will be eligible to be certified as a Detention Officer in North Carolina.

General Instructor Training Course

To teach courses regulated by the Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission, you must complete a 101-hour course. An applicant worksheet and the Enrollment Agreement must be submitted at least 30 days before the class to verify qualifications, such as 4+ years of law enforcement experience and proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

Image & Reality: What Really Happened

This course is designed to get someone to look at what they perceived to have happened to what really happened. This could be a use of force incident, driving, to talking to someone.

During this course, we will be going over

de-escalation skills and how our emotions can control how we handle not only an incident at work but our lives in general.

We will talk about problem based learning that can apply to work and home life.

Field Training Officer Course

Field Training Officer is for law enforcement officers who are or will be assigned to provide field training to new officers. This course will provide the technical and personal skills to individuals in order for them to function as evaluators and trainers of recruits who have completed BLET, DOCC or new hires in Communications. Students need to bring their agency’s Field Training Officer Procedures Manual, and a blank copy of their Daily Observation Report (DOR).

Drone: Prep 107

This 32-hour course prepares participants to establish or enhance a UAS program and sit for the FAA Part 107 remote pilot exam.

In addition to 24-hours of lecture, students also receive 8-hours of hands-on flight experience conducting obstacle courses and practical scenarios.

Retirement: What to Expect

The course is designed to prepare the employee for what comes after they retire and how to prepare. The course will cover how the job has affected them mentally, physically, and financially.

Tactical Leadership

1st Line Supervision Course

First-line supervision goes beyond just managing a squad or unit; it's a vital role that turns policy into action within an organization. Each agency should teach their personnel about daily operations, policies, procedures and protocols.

The aim of this 40-hour course is to help students gain a deeper understanding of their responsibilities as first-line supervisors and the expectations of the various people they interact with daily.

Tactical Emergency Casualty Care for LE

This hands-on course prepares patrol officers, deputies, and other first responders to save lives in high-threat situations before EMS arrives. Built on Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (C-TECC) guidelines, TECC-LEO replaces the older LEFR-TCC program and focuses on simple, effective interventions that work under fire.

Participants learn to:

• Apply the MARCH algorithm for rapid casualty assessment
• Control massive bleeding with tourniquets, hemostatics, and wound packing
• Manage airway and breathing emergencies under stress
• Move and extract injured partners while maintaining scene security

Instruction is led by tactical-medicine providers with operational experience who keep every scenario realistic, relevant, and mission-driven.

Graduates earn an NAEMT TECC-LEO certificate and CAPCE CEUs (for qualified EMS personnel).

Law-enforcement officers may also receive North Carolina Justice Academy in-service credit upon agency submission and approval through their training coordinator.

While this course is not:

TECC-LEO is not a full medical certification course or a substitute for EMT training. It does not teach advanced clinical procedures or firearm tactics. The focus is on lifesaving trauma care that any officer can perform before medics arive--fast, pratical, and grounded in reality

Advanced FTO & FTO Refresher

The Advanced Field Training Officers Course is designed for officers who have completed the Basic FTO course, as well as supervisors overseeing the FTO program.

• Identifies who is not suitable to be an FTO
• Updates on legal and documentation matters

The course also focuses on leadership, supervisory skills, and problem-based learning exercises.

Report Writing Refresher

This course is designed to refresh the students on basic field note taking, narrative structure, punctuation and grammar. Each student will be required to bring a laptop and charger to use in class. Microsoft Word is recommended.

Officer Survival 1

This course reinforces and expands the skills acquired in BLET that relate to high-risk duties.

The instruction will provide individuals with new tactical information through a lecture and demonstration format. 

The newly acquired skills are practice in a structured and controlled environment through reality-based training.
